Iran: 1,255 killed, 12,000 wounded in nine days of US-Israel attacks

Dr Ali Jafarian, Iran’s deputy health minister told Al Jazeera, that over nine days of US-Israeli attacks, 1,255 people have been killed and more than 12,000 wounded.
He added that most casualties are civilians, including 200 women and 200 children, with 168 children killed in Minab Elementary School.
Jafarian reported that 55 healthcare workers were wounded and 11 killed, and 29 hospitals have been damaged, 10 of which are now inactive.
He noted that injuries are mainly burns and trauma from explosions, and remaining hospitals are still treating patients.
The deputy minister warned of pollution from recent strikes, including acid rain over Tehran, and advised at-risk residents to stay home or wear masks.
He said Iran’s health infrastructure remains resilient, with medical universities and pharmaceutical companies covering the country’s needs despite sanctions.
