Lebanon is facing a rapidly worsening humanitarian emergency as evacuation orders expand and shelters reach capacity. World Central Kitchen’s Aline Kamakian, who has been coordinating food aid, says conditions are becoming “inhumane” as thousands flee their homes with nowhere to go.
Kamakian explains that WCK is adapting operations in real time despite severe security challenges. Kitchens are being relocated to safer areas, and teams are working with local chefs and restaurants to deliver hot meals within 25 minutes to shelters. But the needs are escalating far faster than relief efforts can keep up.
