Thousands of activists calling for an end to Israel’s war on Gaza have concluded a three-day conference in Detroit, Michigan.
The second annual People’s Conference for Palestine brought together grassroots organisers, students and community leaders to strategise on transforming public awareness of the conflict into tangible action.
Discussions centred on intensifying pressure on the Democratic Party ahead of midterm elections, organising direct action to halt US weapons transfers to Israel, and connecting the Gaza crisis to broader issues of inequality and political corruption in America.
The event highlighted the ongoing strength of the student movement, despite university crackdowns on campus protests.
