Trump orders blockade of sanctioned Venezuelan oil tankers, Maduro slams ‘grotesque threat’

Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro has condemned the US decision to impose a blockade on all sanctioned oil tankers from Venezuela, calling it a “grotesque threat”.
President Donald Trump’s order marks a sharp escalation in his administration’s campaign against Maduro.
Last week the US seized a tanker off Venezuela’s coast.
Washington has increased its military presence in Pacific and Caribbean as part of a crackdown on drug smuggling.
The US is the second-largest buyer of Venezuelan crude oil after China.
Maduro accuses Trump of trying to take over the country’s resources.
